U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings will visit Oak Ridge on Friday, and he and Rep. Chuck Fleischmann will tour the East Tennessee Technology Park, Y-12 National Security Complex, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Hastings, a Washington Republican, is chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources and is a strong advocate for a Manhattan Project National Historic Park, which could include Oak Ridge. Hastings has recently drafted legislation to make the park a reality, according to a press release from Fleischmann’s office.

Fleischmann is a Tennessee Republican, and he is serving his first term. His district includes Oak Ridge.

The congressmen will meet with the media Friday morning at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Office on Administration Road.
