The City of Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board (YAB) acts as a link between the Oak Ridge City Council and the youth in our community and is made up of students from 8th grade through 12th grade.  This organization often has activities geared toward teens to give them healthy and safe activities.  The ones for this month are as follows:

Freshman/Sophomore Dance – April 13, 2011 @ 6 p.m. at the Paradox Teen Center on New York Ave.  This is a semi-formal dance and the cost is $4.00. This is for ORHS students only.

Youth Career Fair – April 25th

The City Youth Advisory Board is hosting a Summer Jobs & Career Fair for Teens at Oak Ridge High School on Wednesday, April 25th from 2pm-4pm. This event will introduce students and potential employers, and colleges.  This is a free event and there will be door prizes.  To be a vendor, please go to the city’s website at www.orrecparks.org for the provider Form.

Battle of the Bands – April 27th (6pm-9pm) – Civic Center.  Bands must register by April 18.  All band members must be under 21.  If bad weather is forecasted, then it will be held at the Paradox Teen Center.
