The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge has canceled the candidate forum that had been scheduled for Tuesday, October 18. The forum was for Tennessee legislative and Third District congressional candidates.
The League of Women Voters said it announced the cancellation “with extreme regret.”
Several of the candidates were unable to attend due to prior commitments or other issues, a press release said.
There are other avenues where voters can learn about these candidates, the press release said. The League has an online voter information site, VOTE411.org, where a voter can type in their address and a voter’s guide appears.
“The site has been populated with virtually all the candidates giving their responses to LWVOR questions,” the press release said. “Voters can compare answers between candidates and even print out their selections to take with them to the polls.”
