A guided scenic paddle trip on Melton Hill Lake from Clark Center Park is scheduled for Sunday, April 30.

It will begin at the Clark Center Park boat ramp, a press release said. After paddling across the lake, there will be a stop at Knox County’s Melton Lake Park, where Knox County is sponsoring a weekend camporee. Along the way, participants can pick up and haul back manageable trash, a press release said.

“There will be birds, wildflowers, bluffs, and tranquil inlets to explore on the downstream trip,” the press release said.

This outing is sponsored by Advocates for Oak Ridge Reservation and Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning.

Participants should meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at Clark Center Park boat ramp at the end of Bull Bluff Drive. Those needing a kayak or canoe may be able to rent one from Adventure Outdoors Center (Outdoorsrentals.com); assistance on transporting the watercraft can be provided.

“Please bring a life jacket and wear it whenever in the boat,” the press release said.

Be prepared for sun and bring a lunch and water. Pets are not permitted.
