The free community Thanksgiving Dinner at High Places Community Church and Grove Theater in Oak Ridge is Thursday.

This year’s program has been changed to allow people to maintain physical distances.

The Oak Ridge Community Thanksgiving Dinner is hosted by a grassroots group of people.

Dinner will be served by drive-up/walk-up from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday at 123 Randolph Road in Grove Center.

The food will be prepared internally, and no outside food donations will be accepted, a press release said. The volunteers are relying more on financial donations. You can donate money here.

Volunteers will be limited. You can sign up as a volunteer here.

If you have questions, you can send an email to OakRidgeCommunityThanksgiving@gmail.com or call/text (865) 384-5683. Follow the group on Facebook (here) for frequent updates.

Delivery options: Organizers of this event will not be making deliveries. However, people who are aware of specific needs in the community and are willing to pick up and deliver meals using their own transportation are welcome to come by during the dinner and carry out meals, the press release said.
