An Oak Ridge man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing was reported early Monday.

Jordan Young, 33, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, according to arrest warrants filed in Anderson County General Sessions Court in Oak Ridge.

The warrants said the stabbing was reported on Utica Circle at about 4:24 a.m. Monday.

Police learned that a man had been stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and leg, the warrants said. Friends had taken him to the hospital.

Multiple witnesses said Young was the person who stabbed the man, and police have written statements from two witnesses, according to the warrants.

An Oak Ridge Police Department officer said the victim and Young had been friends but were involved in some type of altercation before the stabbing, according to the warrants.

“Further investigation shows that Young has recently been charged with multiple aggravated assaults on other victims,” the warrants said.

Young’s bond has been set at $100,000. His next court date is scheduled for June 9.
