It’s festival season in Oak Ridge, and pre-festival events will be going on all week leading up to the Secret City Festival weekend on June 7-8, a press release said.

“One of those pre-festival events is Battle of the Bands ‘Rocking the Ridge’—a great night of local talent, food, and beer!” the press release said. “Check out some amazing local bands who will be ‘Rocking the Ridge’ and take the top spot in their category.”

The show will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce parking lot and will go until the winners are crowned, the press release said.

Bands will compete in one of three categories: Youth (for band members 18 years or younger), Acoustic/Folk, and Electric/Rock. The winning band from each category will perform a short set on Friday, June 7, beginning at 6 p.m. on the Pavilion Stage before the Secret City Festival headline concert by Loverboy.

Both Waffley Good food truck and the Crafter’s Brew Bus will be set up in the Chamber parking lot to offer food and drinks throughout the Battle of the Bands show, the press release said.

“Audience participation will be part of the judging, so bring the whole family for dinner and a fun night!” the press release said.

If you’re interested in participating, please email Adam at adam@uwayac.org.

“Spots are filling up fast!” the press release said. “We look forward to seeing you all there!”

More information will be added as it becomes available.
