ORHS students qualify for state competition for future business leaders

On February 1, five members of the Oak Ridge High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the Region 6 Conference at the Knoxville Expo Center.

The ORHS students received the following awards:

  • Chapter—Silver Chapter Award for increasing membership
  • Rachel McBryar—3rd Place, Accounting
  • Bailey Williams—3rd Place, Introduction to Business Communication
  • Ella Stewart—4th Place, Introduction to FBLA
  • Blake Norris—6th Place, Introduction to Financial Math

These students may now advance to compete at the State Leadership Conference to be held in Chattanooga from March 11-14.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student business organization in the world, a press release said. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps more than 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. FBLA-PBL’s mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs, the press release said.
