The Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats held Central to 11 points on Tuesday in a 64-11 win, a new record for least points allowed.

The previous record for least points allowed was 14, which is what the 1999 team allowed Alcoa, broadcaster David Clary said.

At 10-0, the Lady Wildcats remain undefeated atop District 3-AAA, and they have an overall record of 16-3. Central is last in the district at 0-9 and 2-16 overall.

The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats swept Clinton and Central in the past week.

The Lady Wildcats held Central scoreless through the first half Tuesday. Senior forward Caelyn Thompson led Oak Ridge with 16 points. Sophomore post Mykia Dowdell and freshman point guard Jada Guinn both had 10. Jasmine Hembry and Jamiela Southall followed with eight each.

In the boys game on Tuesday, the Wildcats beat the Bobcats (15-7, 7-3) 78-36. The Wildcats had four players in double digits, and seven players combined to hit 11 three-pointers.

Oak Ridge (22-2, 10-0) was led by junior guard Tajion Jones with 14 points, followed by senior forward Javien Johnson with 13.

Also in the past week, the Lady Wildcats beat Clinton 55-16 on Friday, January 15, and the Wildcats defeated the Dragons 77-57. Junior guard Tee Higgins had the game high with 21 points and nine rebounds, followed by Tajion Jones with 13 points and three rebounds.

It was the second time this season the Lady Wildcats and Wildcats have won against Clinton and Central.

Oak Ridge was scheduled to play Powell at Wildcat Arena on Friday, January 22, but that game has been postponed to Thursday, January 28, due to the weather.

Before then, Oak Ridge is scheduled to play Anderson County at home on Tuesday, January 26. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., and the boys begin at 7:30.

It will be the second time this season Oak Ridge has played Powell and Anderson County. The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats won those games earlier this season.

More information will be added as it becomes available.
