The Region 2-AAA basketball tournament semifinals will be played in Oak Ridge this evening.

The Oak Ridge Wildcats will take on Heritage at 7:30 p.m. That game will be preceded by a match between Bearden and Maryville that starts at 6 p.m.

The games will be played at the Oak Ridge High School Wildcat Arena.

The regional championship is scheduled at Oak Ridge at 3:30 p.m. Sunday if the Wildcats win the semifinal. That schedule assumes there are no more delays or cancellations due to weather.

The sectional is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner moving on to the state tournament. The Region 2 winner will play at home against the Region 1 Runner-Up.

The Region 2 loser will travel to upper East Tennessee to play the Region 1 champion.

The Region 1 opponents in sectional could be:

  • Dobyns-Bennett,
  • Jefferson County,
  • Davey Crockett, or
  • Science Hill.

Here is the Region 2-AAA tournament bracket.
