Comedy at the Grove Theater

Comedy Night at the Grove Theater on Friday, October 17, will feature local comedians.

Shane Rhyne, a Clinton native who now lives in Claiborne County, will be the host.

The featured comedians will be Karen George Comedienne, who was born in Chattanooga and lives in Oak Ridge, and Danny Whitson, an Oak Ridge native.

“(Karen) has performed in Washington, D.C., Cleveland, Knoxville, and Chattanooga,” a press release said. “She’s an actor, mother, comedian, and Realtor. Clean comic with an attitude!”

You may have seen Whitson perform throughout the Southeast, including Atlanta, Asheville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga.

“He’s been known for mesmerizing you with his magical skills and possibly even judging you for your eyebrow-shaping etiquette,” the press release said.

Headlining the show will be Josh Phillips, an Oak Ridge native and professional full-time comedian for eight years.

“He has performed for the troops here and overseas, he’s been on the Paula Deen Network…He will be starring in an up-and-coming reality show on the History Channel,” the press release said.

The show starts at 8 p.m., and the doors open at 7. The Grove Theater is at 123 Randolph Road in Oak Ridge.

Food and beverages will be available before the show and during intermission (cash bar only). Admission will be for adults 18 and up only. Must be 21 to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. Smoking will not be permitted inside of the building.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 by contacting Danny at (865) 255-0618 or Antonette at (865) 255-0619. You can also purchase tickets through any of the performing comedians. If you would like to purchase them at the door, please have cash available for purchase.
