Nancy Hunley Saylor, age 73, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, after a lingering illness.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was born October 23, 1940m in Oaks, Kentucky, the daughter of James “Jim” and Isabell Green Hunley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Liddy “Sissy” Cornelius; brothers, James Jr. “Junior,” Charles, John Lucian “Lou,” and four infant brothers and a great-granddaughter, Eidynn.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Berl Saylor; children, Darrel (Wendy Mullins) Saylor of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Micheal (Lori) Saylor of LaGrange, Kentucky, David (Julie) Saylor of Clarksville, Tennessee, Brenda (Tom) Thornburgh of Oak Ridge, Tammy Saylor of Oak Ridge, and Jeffrey (Emily) Saylor of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael, Cheryl, Terry, Tom Jr., Travis, Tiffany, Jordan, Patrick, Matthew, Christopher, and Connor; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Chase, Raina, Skylar, Emma, and Serenity Nancy; and siblings, Orville (Annette) Hunley of Flat Rock, Michigan, J. (Jean) Hunley of Owosso, Michigan, Rachel Clark of Melvindale, Michigan, and Shirley Daniels of Clio, Michigan.
The family received friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral followed at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Troy Forrester officiating.
A graveside service was held on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Saylor Cemetery in Molus, Kentucky, with Rev. Everett Eads officiating. Following the Wednesday evening service and the Thursday graveside service, family and friends gathered at the home of Brenda and Tom Thornburgh in Oak Ridge.
