Graduation Celebration 2013

Plans for the 17th annual Graduation Celebration on May 29 are well under way.

Graduation Celebration is an all-night, safe party for our city’s graduates from Oak Ridge High School, homeschool, or private schools.

The party began in 1997, after several tragic deaths during the graduation season, and today about 90 percent of ORHS graduates attend each year.

It is sponsored by the Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, and dozens of city leaders who plan all-night games, food, music and even SCUBA diving. Volunteers and donations are needed.

If you donate $250 by May 1, you’ll get your name on the graduate T-shirt! Please donate or volunteer soon at www.GraduationCelebration.org, and follow them on Twitter @GraduationCeleb and Facebook at ORGradCel.

This year’s party is themed “The Great Gatsby,” and it will be held from 10 p.m. May 29 until 5 a.m. May 30.

Graduates must register at www.GraduationCelebration.org. Register by May 15 for a $100 Early Bird drawing!
