The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in finding a woman who was last seen in Oak Ridge on Wednesday.

Barbara “Jan” Follansbee, 58, left her mother’s home at 102 Dasher Lane in Oak Ridge between 6 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. Follansbee said she was going to Walmart.

Follansbee has brown hair, is about 5’6”, and weighs about 135 pounds. She was wearing sweat pants and a red sweater and red jacket when she left her mother’s home on Wednesday, according to a report by Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Detective Jason Smith. She left in a maroon 2008 Honda Accord with a license plate number 718-VXR.

Follansbee did not have her iPad or her heavy coat, Smith said in the report. She took her cell phone but did not have a charger.

Deputies have unsuccessfully tried to reach Follansbee on her cell phone.

Her sister, Pat Beasley of Knoxville, reported her missing. Beasley can be reached at (865) 300-9727 or (865) 384-7985.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said Follansbee has bipolar disorder, and she has had manic episodes and left in the past. This last occurred about six years ago.

“She was last located in Ohio after her car broke down,” a press release said. “She is on medication, but it is unknown if she has it with her. She has not been seen or heard from since she left.”

Follansbee lives in Collierville in Shelby County in west Tennessee, and she has two daughters who also live there.

A press release said Loudon County dispatch ((865) 458-9081) was entering Follansbee into NCIC. Beasley said her sister could be going to their old residence at 107 Pleasant Road in Oak Ridge.
