The Oak Ridge Senior Center has partnered with local businesses to offer free car winterizations for seniors on Saturday.

The first-of-its-kind event is open to seniors 50 and older at the Senior Center on Emory Valley Road. A 12-point vehicle check will be provided free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis. The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A press release said the program is being offered through a partnership between Details Auto Care and the Oak Ridge Senior Center. Technicians from Eddie Hair Tire, People’s Choice Auto Repair, and Chuck’s Car Care will be on hand to look over vehicles and make sure they are ready for the winter season. Supplies will be provided by O’Reilly Auto Parts, Fischer Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, and Auto Zone.

Refreshments will also be provided by local grocery stores inside the Senior Center while vehicles are being inspected, the release said. For more information, call the Oak Ridge Senior Center at (865)-425-3999.

The Senior Center is at 728 Emory Valley Road.
