Oak Ridge Associated Universities has won a five-year, $6.5 million contract from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health to manage peer and performance reviews.

As part of this contract, ORAU will assist the Department of Health in meeting its mission to fund Pennsylvania research organizations to conduct biomedical, clinical, and health services research projects using peer review as part of the grant selection process and performance reviews to assess ongoing and completed grants.

“ORAU taps experts from our network of more than 100 major research institutions to participate in peer and performance reviews, and we utilize a proven process that provides independent reviews with the highest level of integrity and efficiency possible, eliminating conflicts of interest,” said ORAU president and chief executive officer Andy Page. “ORAU’s reputation as an outstanding federal contractor has set the stage for ORAU to continue to branch out into the state, local, and private sector for new projects; this work for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is a perfect example of how we are expanding our work.”
