Jaguars eliminate Wildcats from state tournament

The Southwind Jaguars opened up a wide lead in the fourth quarter and eliminated the Oak Ridge Wildcats from the state basketball tournament in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday.

The final score at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro was 69-47.

Oak Ridge finished the season 28-6. It was reported to be the Wildcats first trip to the state tournament since 2008.

The Wednesday morning game at Middle Tennessee State University was the first in the Class AAA championships.
