The Oak Ridge Wildcats will play the Southwind Jaguars of Memphis on Wednesday morning in the quarterfinals of the state basketball tournament in Murfreesboro.

It’s the first game in the Class AAA championships, and it starts at 10 a.m. at the Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University.

The bracket was announced Saturday.

The winner of the game between Oak Ridge (28-5) and Southwind (31-6) will play the winner of the Brentwood-Blackman game, which also starts Wednesday morning, in a semifinal match on Friday morning.

It’s reported to be the first time Oak Ridge has been to the state tournament since 2008.

Oak Ridge beat Sevier County 61-45 in a sectional game on Monday.

Let’s go Wildcats!!! I’ve known most of you since you were young kids and I’m so proud of how you’re representing our town as young men.
