A conference at the end of February will give small businesses a chance to learn how to benefit from the planned $6.5 billion Uranium Processing Facility at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

The 2013 Construction Opportunities Conference is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the New Hope Center at Y-12. It’s offered by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and partners.

Sessions will include: doing business with the U.S. Corps of Engineers, bid estimating strategies, how to put together joint ventures and teaming agreements, project management fundamentals, and an information session on the Small Business Administration Surety Bond Guaranty Assistance program.

The conference will also allow small businesses to learn about opportunities with major prime contractors and government agencies, a press release said.

“All small businesses are invited,” the release said. “This will be a great opportunity to network.”

The New Hope Center is at 602 Scarboro Road in Oak Ridge.
