Cash Mob on Saturday at J&M, Mickey’s

The Young Professionals of Oak Ridge and the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce have invited the public to take part in a Cash Mob on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will take place at J&M Butcher Shop and Mickey’s Produce.

Cash mobs are aimed at supporting local businesses and rebuilding communities, according to the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce website. It’s like a “flash mob,” but instead of singing, dancing or rioting, cash mobbers join together and each spend at least $20 at a local business.

J&M Butcher Shop is located at 42 Jefferson Circle and Mickey’s Produce is located at 101 Jefferson Ave.

Sorry I missed this. J&M butcher shop is the best! I cooked a steak from there for a visiting friend and he raved about how good it was. Two years later he was up here again and he didn’t want to go out for dinner – he wanted another J&M steak.

They had a great turnout at J&M this morning, Peggy, and also at Mickey’s. We also like J&M meat and other products, like the lasagna.

I’ve never been to J&M’s, but really keep meaning to go. I do visit Mickey’s though and enjoy having a produce stand close by. Even though I now have a garden thats producing now so I haven’t had to go much lately.
