Road closures planned on Hillside Road for sewer line work

Road closures are scheduled to start Monday on Hillside Road for sewer line work.

Parts of Hillside Road will be closed intermittently throughout the day on Monday, January 8, to allow crews to replace a sewer line located near Henley Road, the City of Oak Ridge said in a press release. Local traffic will be allowed to drive to homes on Henley Road.

A full closure of Hillside Road will begin on Tuesday, January 9, to renew service connections to several homes in the area, the press release said. These connections are located under the driving surface of the roadway. Local traffic to the affected residences will be accommodated, the press release said. [Read more…]

Rehab work continues this week in Turtle Park Sewer Shed

Sewer rehabilitation will continue the week of November 6 with Hurst Excavating LLC working under contract for the City of Oak Ridge to rehabilitate sewer collection pipes in the Turtle Park Sewer Shed. Areas affected by phase two of the project include city easements in yards and roadways.

Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to use extreme care and caution when traveling on streets included in the sewer work area, a press release said. Temporary road repairs will be made, and loose gravel should be expected until the patches are permanently paved.

Sewer rehabilitation work continues in Oak Ridge in December. Morgan Contracting, working under contract for the City of Oak Ridge, is rehabilitating sewer collection pipes within city easements in yards and in roadways.

Residents should have already received letters on colored paper (green for Morgan Contracting) and door hangers providing general information and contractor contact information, a press release said.

“Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to use extra care and caution when traveling on the streets with sewer work areas,” the release said. “Temporary road repairs will be made, and loose gravel should be expected until the patches are permanently paved.”

Sewer rehab continues in August, with manhole repairs starting Monday

Sewer rehabilitation continues in August, and starting Monday, August 24, Portland Utilities will be back in town doing manhole repair, primarily in the Central City Sewer Shed. Portland Utilities will notify residents by knocking on their doors on a case-by-case basis. They will be working for about three weeks, deepening upon the weather, a press release said.

The sewer rehab is being done Morgan Contracting, working under contract for the City of Oak Ridge. They are rehabilitating the city’s sewer collection pipes within city easements in yards and in roadways, the release said.

City starts sending out sewer rehab letters on Monday

Beginning next week, residents located in the east end of Oak Ridge should be receiving an information letter in the mail from the city concerning sewer rehabilitation work in the area. The letter is on purple paper and provides general information concerning the sewer work.

Morgan Contracting Inc. will be conducting preconstruction work in the area, a press release said. This work includes tasks such as locating manholes and walking the terrain of the area, so residents may see workers in their yard or along the greenbelt.
