The Sixth Annual Drug Awareness Day is Saturday at the Oak Ridge Municipal Pool.
It’s hosted by the Oak Ridge Chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
The pool is located at 172 Providence Road.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Clinch Valley will hold its annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. This year’s event will again be hosted and catered by the Oak Ridge Country Club, a press release said.
The Oak Ridge Country Club’s renovations to their pool and outdoor bar have created a great space for entertainment, the press release said.
“By having the event a little later this year, we hope to take advantage of the outdoor spaces, cooler weather, and phenomenal fall views,†said Boys & Girls Club Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Pettyjohn.

Drug awareness demonstrations will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the pool area, a press release said. Hundreds of prizes will be given away to those participating in a drug awareness activity. Some of the prizes include T-shirts, coloring books, swim noodles, beach balls, and Frisbees, the press release said.

If so, you are invited to join the family and friends of Clayton Smith along with the Roane County Anti-Drug Coalition for a special prayer and balloon release at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 15, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

A few of the planned activities include the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Jet Ski simulator and fatal vision goggle demonstrations. “Elroy the Elk” the national mascot for the Elks Drug Awareness Program, will be in attendance to remind kids that hugs are better than drugs. Hundreds of prizes will be given away to those participating in a drug awareness activity.
