Obituary: Myrin ‘Mike’ Lundin

Myrin “Mike” Lundin, age 90, of Oak Ridge passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Nashville.

Mr. Lundin was born October 9, 1923, in New York City, New York, and was a graduate of David Clinton High School in the Bronx, New York. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from City College of New York in 1943 and moved to Oak Ridge in 1944 and started working with Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant. During Mr. Lundin’s career here, he received many promotions and awards and was last working as a senior staff consultant to the director of engineering.

Mr. Lundin was a member of the Jewish Congregation of Oak Ridge, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, he was the founder of the Oak Ridge Group in 1947, Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Tennessee Joint Engineering Action Group, State of Tennessee Registered Engineer, Oak Ridge Board of Zoning Appeals (1963-1986), City of Oak Ride Mayor’s Land Use Advisory Committee, and the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce Industry Recruiting Committee (1985-1986).
