Roane State invites public to Manufacturing Day in Clinton on Friday

Roane State Manufacturing Day Open House Oct. 2, 2015

Roane State Community College will host an open house at its Clinton Higher Education and Workforce Training Facility as part of Manufacturing Day on Friday, October  2.

The event will last from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the facility, which is at 214 Nave Street in Clinton. The public is invited to visit the facility and learn more about Roane State courses in mechatronics and injection molding.

Representatives from area manufacturers will be at the facility to discuss job opportunities in manufacturing, and Roane State staff will demonstrate equipment used in its mechatronics and injection molding programs. [Read more…]

Employers are invited to participate in a March 4 job fair for Roane State Community College students who are pursuing careers in health care and plan to graduate this year.

Roane State to host workshops on applying for USDA grants

Farmers, ranchers, and rural small business representatives are invited to upcoming workshops on applying for a federal grant that supports renewable energy projects.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program, or REAP, promotes rural economic development by assisting rural business to become more energy efficient. Grant funds can cover up to 25 percent of eligible projects.

Roane State Community College will host two workshops on applying for the grant. Representatives of Lenoir City-based ARiES Energy will prepare grant applications for those interested. [Read more…]

Employers are invited to participate in a Feb. 26 job fair for Roane State Community College students who are pursuing careers in health care.

The fair is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 1-4 p.m. at Roane State’s Oak Ridge campus, 701 Briarcliff Ave. Setup begins at noon.

Roane State has job search boot camps in October

Job seekers can get no-cost expert advice every Tuesday in October at Roane State Community College’s Clinton Higher Education and Workforce Training Facility.

A Job Search Boot Camp will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15, Oct. 22, and Oct. 29 at the facility at 214 Nave St. Anyone is invited to stop by, complete a sample job application, go through a mock interview, have their resume reviewed, and get feedback and job search advice from Roane State career experts.
