Under way: Roane State Oak Ridge hosts Open House, Reconnect Ready

Prospective students of all ages are extended a cordial invitation to an Open House at the Oak Ridge campus of Roane State Community College, which is at 701 Briarcliff Avenue in Oak Ridge.

The event is being held on a Saturday, April 14, in the atrium of the campus’s Coffey-McNally Building. It began at 10:30 a.m. with check-in.

Jim McDaniel, director of student enrollment and recruitment, said the Open House is for “anyone who wants to go to college.”

Information about the admission process and financial aid scholarships will be available. Faculty members will be on hand to discuss the college’s academic programs. [Read more…]

An open house is scheduled for Thursday, November 9, in the atrium of the Coffey-McNally Building at Roane State’s Oak Ridge campus at 701 Briarcliff Avenue.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for prospective Roane State students of all ages to learn about various academic programs, how to enroll, and how to apply for financial aid,” said Jim McDaniel, director of student enrollment.

The program will begin at 6 p.m. Information about curricula, admissions requirements, financial aid, the state’s new Reconnect program, and student life will be displayed on tables. Staff and faculty members will be available to answer questions, a press release said. [Read more…]

Roane State to host information sessions for adults interesting in going back to school

Adults thinking about returning to college or enrolling for the first time can get any questions they may have answered during three upcoming meetings at Roane State Community College.

Adult learner information sessions will be Thursday, June 15, and Wednesday, July 19, in the City Room of Roane State’s Coffey-McNally Building on the college’s Oak Ridge campus.

Another session on Thursday, July 13, will be in the Raider Room in the Dunbar Building on main campus in Harriman.

All of the sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m., and they are free. [Read more…]

Roane State Community College’s Oak Ridge campus will host an information fair for adults who want to go back to college.

Scholarship Saturday at Roane State campuses in Roane, Oak Ridge

High school seniors can sign up for the Tennessee Promise and fill out their college application as part of Scholarship Saturday on September 26 at Roane State Community College’s Oak Ridge campus and at the college’s Roane County campus in Harriman.

Each event will last from 9 a.m.-noon, and refreshments will be served.

Students who attend the event at the Oak Ridge campus at 701 Briarcliff Avenue will meet in Room 118 in the Goff Health Sciences and Technology Building. Students are asked to reserve a spot by contacting Jim McDaniel at (865) 354-3000, ext. 2362, or [email protected]. [Read more…]
