Janie L. Brown, age 70, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday March 23, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Janie was a member of Gayland Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville. She enjoyed playing piano, organ, dominoes, cards, and working crossword puzzles. She always cared more for her family than herself.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Shaffner Sr. and Ruby Eppler Schaffner; brothers, Edward Shaffner Jr. and Jack Coleman; and sister, Anna Joe McClain.  [Read more…]
