Senior Center has Holiday Reception on Dec. 9

The Oak Ridge Senior Center will host a Holiday Reception for area senior citizens on Friday, December 9. The reception is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day in the Civic Center gymnasium at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

The reception is free. Pre-registration is required because of limited space, a press release said.

“Come join us for a light box lunch consisting of chips, cookies, and a choice of either egg salad, chicken salad, or pimento cheese sandwich,” Senior Center Manager Linda McGhee said. “The Senior Center’s own Golden Eagles will be playing live Christmas music beginning at 11 a.m.”

The Oak Ridge Senior Center’s annual holiday reception for area senior citizens has been scheduled for Friday, December 13, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event will be held inside the Oak Ridge Civic Center’s Shep Lauter Room (gymnasium) at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

The reception will feature a light lunch of sandwiches, chips, and cookies, as well as holiday music and fellowship, a press release said. The Senior Center guitar group will be playing live Christmas music beginning at 11 a.m.

Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., and door prizes will be given away during that time, the press release said. Bingo will be after lunch for those who want to stay and play, the release said.

The Oak Ridge Senior Center will host a Holiday Reception for area senior citizens on Friday, December 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held in the gymnasium of the Civic Center, located at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Local seniors are invited for a light lunch of sandwiches, chips, and cookies, as well as holiday music and fellowship, a press release said. “Come join us for a light lunch of sandwiches, chips, and cookies as well as holiday music and fellowship,” the release said. “The Senior Center guitar group will be playing live Christmas music. Bingo will be offered, and door prizes given away. Goodie bags will be given out while they last. The event is sponsored by the Oak Ridge Senior Center and made possible by many generous donations from area businesses.”
