Effie Carter Goodall, age 101, of Oak Ridge, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 20.

Effie was born in Pennington Gap, Va., on October 21, 1912, and moved to Oak Ridge in 1944. She had seven siblings.

Effie was a longtime member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to the many people who knew and loved her.

Effie was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Carter; son, Freddie Carter; second husband, William Goodall Sr.; stepdaughter, Barbara Goodall Scofield and stepson, William Goodall Jr.  [Read more…]
