Convocation for Oak Ridge High School seniors was Wednesday. Graduation is today (Thursday, June 2).

Here are two pictures from the Wednesday night Convocation by Julio Culiat.

The Commencement ceremony starts at 7 p.m. today on Blankenship Field.

Graduation Celebration, a free, all-night party for high school graduates in Oak Ridge, starts at 10 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Civic Center. [Read more…]

Roane State graduation set for May 6-7

Roane State Community College will hold its commencement ceremonies on May 6-7.

Both events, to be held in the gym on the Roane County campus in Harriman, will be equal in presentation.

  • Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. (Eastern) for recipients of the Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S) in nursing, recipients of A.A.S. degrees in allied health sciences, and for recipients of certificates in allied health sciences.
  • Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. (Eastern) for recipients of Associate of Arts degrees and Associate of Science degrees, recipients of the Associate of Science in Teaching, and for recipients of A.A.S. degrees or certificates in all other fields.

The Friday ceremony will also include the graduation of Roane State’s first Middle College students. Middle College allows high school students to take college classes in their junior and senior years of high school and then graduate with their diploma and their associate degree. [Read more…]

Oliver Springs High School will present 84 seniors for graduation.

The Class of 2015 Graduation Commencement will be held on Tuesday, May 19, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held on the DJ Brittain Field. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the gym.

A baccalaureate service will be held Sunday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The church is located at Highway 61 and Hen Valley Road in Oliver Springs.

Roane State Community College will hold commencement ceremonies on May 9-10.

Both events, to be held in the gym on the Roane County campus in Harriman, will be equal in presentation.

  • Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. (Eastern) for recipients of the Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S) in nursing, recipients of A.A.S. degrees in allied health sciences, and for recipients of certificates in allied health sciences.
  • Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. (Eastern) for recipients of Associate of Arts degrees and Associate of Science degrees, recipients of the Associate of Science in Teaching, and for recipients of A.A.S. degrees or certificates in all other fields.

Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker, former U.S Senator from Kansas and wife of Tennessee statesman Howard Baker Jr., will be the speaker for the Friday ceremony. Jim Henry, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, will speak at the Saturday event. [Read more…]
