Chamber’s Christmas Parade to be held Saturday, Dec. 14

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is busy preparing for its annual Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, Dec. 14. This year’s theme is “Inside Santa’s Workshop” and promises to provide spectators with plenty of music, lights, and beautiful floats, a press release said. Businesses and community organizations have already begun registering for the parade.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and will begin at Corporate Center, on the corner of Lafayette and Laboratory Road. From there, the parade will travel down Lafayette to the Oak Ridge Turnpike. It will continue west on the Turnpike to Oak Ridge High School. The judge’s stand will be located in front of the Chamber. [Read more…]

Oliver Springs has Christmas parade Saturday

Oliver Springs will have its Christmas parade on Saturday.

The opening ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Court of Flags on West Tri County Boulevard.

The parade lineup starts at Arrowhead Park at 4:45 p.m., and the parade begins at 5:30 p.m.

Things to do in Oak Ridge this weekend

Activities in Oak Ridge this weekend include a free movie, Christmas tree lighting, and Children’s Museum gala tonight and the annual Christmas parade tomorrow.

There is also a CONTACT Helpline pancake breakfast, rides with Santa on the Secret City Excursion Train, and the Roane State Community College holiday concert in Harriman.
