The Camera Club of Oak Ridge will have its 69th Annual Photographic Salon on display at the New Hope Center at the Y-12 National Security Complex from October 30 to November 9.

The exhibition contains photographs in nine categories from wildlife and landscapes to abstracts and creative development, a press release said.

The New Hope Center is located at 602 Scarboro Road in Oak Ridge. The Salon will be on display there during regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. [Read more…]

The Camera Club of Oak Ridge has a Reception and Gallery Walk for its 68th Photographic Salon on Friday.

One of the biggest photographic shows in East Tennessee, the Salon will be on display at the New Hope Center at Y-12 National Security Complex from October 31 to November 10, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Reception and Gallery Walk will be held on Friday, November 4, from 7-9 p.m.

The camera club has exhibited its best images since 1948 under names that have included Oak Ridge Camera Club, Carbide Camera Club, Lockheed Martin Camera Club, and now CCOR. [Read more…]

If you would like to learn more about photography, one of the most cost- and time-efficient ways to do so is to join a camera club and Oak Ridge has a good one!

The Camera Club of Oak Ridge has monthly meetings that alternate between presentations by some of the area most accomplished professional photographers and intra-club competitions with expert judging who teach photography during the process of evaluating the images. The public is welcome to attend an initial meeting for free, and a yearly membership cost is nominal. [Read more…]

The Camera Club of Oak Ridge is presenting its 66th Salon this month. It’s one of the most prestigious juried photography competitions in East Tennessee, and it’s on display at the Y-12 New Hope Center at 602 Scarboro Road in Oak Ridge from November 10 to 20.

The Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Camera Club accepts East Tennessee entries in annual Salon

One of East Tennessee’s most prestigious photography shows and competitions is under way for its 66th year.

The Camera Club of Oak Ridge is inviting all East Tennessee photographers—both amateur and professional, as well as students—to submit entries to their annual Salon, a press release said. Entries will be exhibited at the New Hope Center in Oak Ridge during November and December. A community reception and gallery walk will be held at New Hope Center on Friday evening, November 14.

Photographers may enter digital images, color prints, or black and white prints. There are 10 categories: Animals, Architecture, Botanicals, Creative Development, Creative Vision, Inanimate Objects, Landscape, People, Scenic, and Urbanscapes. [Read more…]

Camera Club: Get your prints ready this week

It is fall, and it is time to enter your best prints in the big show sponsored by the Camera Club of Oak Ridge. Amateur and professional photographers throughout East Tennessee should bring their mounted color or black and white images to the New Hope Center at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge on Friday, Nov. 1, from noon until 5 p.m. or on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Images must be mounted on a 16” x 20” x 3/16” foam core board. Please read complete Salon rules on the cameraclubofoakridge.org website. Entry forms and labels to affix to the back of each photograph can also be found on the website.

East Tennessee’s most prestigious photography show and competition is underway for its 65th year. The Camera Club of Oak Ridge is inviting all East Tennessee photographers—both professional and amateur—to submit entries to their annual Salon.

Entries will be exhibited at the New Hope Center in Oak Ridge during November and December. A community reception and gallery walk will be held on Friday evening, Nov. 15.

Photographers may enter digital images, color prints, or black and white prints. There are three new categories this year. Categories are Architecture, Creative Vision, Creative Development, Inanimate Objects, Landscapes, People, Plants, Scenic, Urbanscapes, and Wildlife. [Read more…]

Entries accepted Friday, Saturday for amateur photo display at Y-12

Amateur photographers can have their artwork displayed starting Monday at the New Hope Center at Y-12 National Security Complex.

The Camera Club of Oak Ridge has invited photographers from across East Tennessee to bring their artwork to New Hope Center on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning for possible inclusion in the display.

Entries will be judged starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Camera Club of Oak Ridge said in a press release.

The release said prints can be in color or black and white. All prints should be mounted on 16”x20” foamcore board.

Entry forms and labels are required. They can be found on the Camera Club’s website at oakridgecameraclub.org, along with instructions and rules.

Photographers who want to enter their work should bring it to the New Hope Center between noon and 5 p.m. Friday or from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. New Hope Center is open to the public near the main entrance to Y-12 on Scarboro Road.

Photographers and the public can watch the Saturday afternoon judging, but they cannot comment or participate in any way, the release said.

The Camera Club will have a Gallery Walk and Meet the Artist reception at New Hope Center from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9.
