Tucked away in the end of Ridgeway Center, Mediterranean Delight offers a taste of Middle-Eastern fare from owners Najah and Riad Rejoub.
The little restaurant will be one of 10 participating eateries that will donate a portion of their sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) through the Dine and Donate program this coming Monday, October 9.
The Rejoubs are from Jordan and have owned the restaurant for 13 years. Some of the menu items include dips like hummus and baba ghanouj, with pita chips sprinkled with zaatar, a Jordanian mix of spices and herbs. Other culinary features include tabouli salads, kubeh, grape leave rolls, chicken skewers, and gyros, a press release said.
Additional restaurants in Oak Ridge and Clinton that will participate in Dine and Donate on Monday include:
- Burchfield’s
- Razzleberry’s
- Riverview Grill
- Outback
- Soup Kitchen
- Gallo Loco
- Dean’s Restaurant
- Subway locations in Clinton, Rocky Top, Oliver Springs, and Oak Ridge (1968 Oak Ridge Turnpike)
Dine and Donate is supported by sponsors UT-Battelle, TNBank, ORNL Federal Credit Union, J&M Butcher Shop, Leidos, and Randy McFarland, State Farm Agent. Media support is provided by Oak Ridge Today.
Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) was established in 1987 to serve the basic needs of primarily low-income residents in Anderson and surrounding Appalachian counties. ADFAC’s goal is to help families become stable and self-sufficient through a variety of direct assistance services provided by its social services and affordable housing programs. ADFAC answers more than 6,000 requests for assistance each year.
