The Rotary Club of Oak Ridge will host an evening of dinner and dancing on Saturday, May 19, to raise funds for community projects and nonprofit organizations. The fundraiser, called the Community Fund Event, starts at 6 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel.
Proceeds from the event go to the Oak Ridge Rotary Community Fund, a nonprofit organization, and are then distributed to various community organizations such as Second Harvest, Girls, Inc., Boys and Girls Club of Oak Ridge, and the Children’s Museum. The proceeds are also used for community beautification projects such as to plant daffodils and dogwood trees or replace the city entrance signs for the service clubs.
Tickets to the event are $100 each and corporate sponsorships are available, and 50 percent of the ticket price is tax-deductible. For more information, view the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge’s flyer at http://rotaryor.org/pdf/2012EventFlyer.pdf.
