Thelma Evelyn Kelly Bailey, age 94, of Tullahoma, met her Savior on Monday, Sept. 24.
Lately, she a member of First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. She was a long- time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carol D. Bailey; parents, Joseph and Bernice Kelly; sister, Lou Hope Grice; and brothers, Woodrow, Orville, Bruce, and Vince Kelly.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, David and Rosemary, and Philip and Carol Bailey; five grand- daughters, Holly, Brenan, Caroline, Katie Jo, and Cora Ann; one grandson, Nathan; two great-grandchildren, James David and Charlotte Nancy; brother, Ken and wife Shirley Kelly; sister Mildred Kelly; and her friend, Ginny Messer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at Weatherford Mortuary on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. A graveside service followed at 3 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Brent Hall officiating.
The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions in her memory to Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200.
