Admission at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge will be free on Saturday for visitors who have downloaded a ticket from the Smithsonian Magazine website.
It’s the eighth annual Smithsonian Magazine’s National Museum Day Live!, and more than 1,400 venues are participating, an AMSE press release said.
The tickets can be downloaded at www.Smithsonian.com/museumday. One ticket will allow entry for two people. There is a limit of one ticket per household and e-mail address.

The American Museum of Science and Energy is located at 300 South Tulane Ave. in Oak Ridge. It’s open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
AMSE features permanent exhibitions: “Oak Ridge Story: WW II Manhattan Project Secret City,” “Exploration Station,” “Y-12 and National Defense,” “Earth’s Energy Resources,” and “World of the Atom,” and AMSE’s 1940s flattop house with original furnishings.
Traveling exhibitions that will be on view Sept. 29 at AMSE include “General Leslie R. Groves and the Manhattan Project” and “Be the Dinosaur: Life in the Crustaceous.”
