An attempted murder charge was dismissed, and an Oak Ridge woman pleaded guilty to aggravated assault this month.
Treasure Sheitel Threat, 30, had been indicted on charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in October 2013. She was accused of stabbing Kingston resident Stanley Wallace in the stomach in his car at the intersection of Robin Lane and Raleigh Road on July 27, 2012, after an argument in Grove Center.
Arrest warrants filed in 2012 said another woman had summoned Threat to Grove Center, but she forgot that Wallace and Threat didn’t like each other.
Threat and the other woman left Grove Center on foot and Wallace left in a car, but they met at the nearby intersection, the warrants said. Threat had been accused of walking up to Wallace’s driver-side window, punching him when he pulled up to a stop sign, and stabbing him.
Threat told police that Wallace intentionally hit her with his vehicle, striking her with a side mirror as he drove away.
Threat pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a weapon on March 9 in Anderson County Circuit and Criminal Court in Clinton. The attempted second-degree murder charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. A misdemeanor theft charge in a separate unrelated case was also dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Threat was sentenced to six years in prison. She will receive credit for time served in jail from July 27, 2012, to May 22, 2014. As a standard offender, she will be eligible for release after serving 30 percent of her sentence.
Threat has also been ordered to pay $1,500 in court costs.
