On Saturday, February 11, at noon, an elegant ladies’ tea party by Tea Thyme Favorites will be held in Oak Ridge at the Old Towne Inn. Step back in time to a 1920s scene from Downton Abbey, a time when women first experienced a new freedom in their lives and in fashion during the changing times.
You and your friends are welcome to share in Tea Thyme Favorites and specialty teas at the lovely Old Town Inn. Mouthwatering savories include: ribbons of cucumber topping, mounds of chicken salad, delicious ham salad, and creamy egg salad garnished with fresh herbs and greens. Cheese crisps and mini-Quiche Lorraines will also adorn the table. For sweetness, enjoy chocolate heart brownies, cranberry scones, and pink sweetheart cookies.
At one of Tea Thyme Favorites’ recent teas held to benefit the Free Medical Clinic, guest Carol Smallridge was quoted as saying, “The presentation was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the variety of teas was hard to choose from! The servers were so welcoming and very professional.”
Guest Kay Brookshire also commented, “Elegant and delightful describes the tea we purchased at the Free Medical Clinic auction! Carroll, Mary Ann, and Lee created a beautiful setting for the tea party and pampered us throughout the afternoon. The cuisine—from soup, tea sandwiches, scones, salads, and sinful desserts—was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. “
Come and enjoy the celebration in your favorite 1920s attire (optional) and don’t forget your favorite hat. As part of the festivities, guests will have fun creating a beautiful nosegay as a keepsake.

Cost for the tea is $40 per guest with a portion of the proceeds benefitting United Way of Anderson County. Old Town Inn is located at 110 East Tennessee Avenue in Oak Ridge.
