Frances Lively Lane, age 95, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 8, at her home.
Mrs. Lane was born March 4, 1917, in the Frost Bottom Community of Anderson County. She continued living in Frost Bottom until her move to Roane County in 1948.
She was a faithful Christian and a 50-plus-year member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved children, enjoyed animals, and she was a master quilter who spent many hours sewing. She loved being outside, and she was an accomplished vegetable and flower gardener.
Before her retirement, she was employed in the Oliver Springs Elementary cafeteria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lane; by parents, Edward and Annie Hoskins Lively; and by sisters, Elenoir Armes, Hattie Mae Lively, and Dorothy Lane.
Mrs. Lane is survived by two sons, Steve Lane and wife Marsha of Kingston, and Lynndel Lane of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Traci Grime and husband Greg of Maryville, and Chris Lane and wife Jessica of Kingston; by great-grandchildren, Austin, Brode, and Cydnee Grime, all of Maryville, and Memphis Rhett Lane of Kingston.
She is also survived by a sister, Edra Lively of Frost Bottom; and by brothers, Curtis Lively and wife Virginia of Maryville, Clayton Lively and wife Evelyn of Oliver Springs, Herbert Lively of Inman, S.C., and Roy Lively of Frost Bottom. Additionally, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and special friends, including Tami and Brooke Kelley, Pat Diggs of Knoxville, and Ann Lowery. Her late special friends included Glen Woods, Reba Reeves, and Fred and Inez White.
The family received friends Tuesday, Sept. 11, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Pastor Garvan Walls and Pastor Keith Price officiating.
Burial and graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. An online guest book is available at www.sharpfh.com.
