Joe Davis, former senior vice president with Artemis Strategies, has been named ORAU director of government relations.

Davis is a government and public affairs professional who has 25 years of policy experience at the corporate, federal, and congressional levels, a press release said.

In his new role, Davis will lead ORAU’s governmental and public affairs outreach with the U.S. Congress, various government agencies, and other stakeholders, the release said.

“We’re excited to have Joe join our team in this leadership role,” said ORAU President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Page. “His public policy expertise will help our organization navigate the policy, political, and business environments at the federal level.”

Prior to ORAU, Davis served as senior vice president at Artemis Strategies, where he provided strategic counsel and direct representation for clients before the U.S. Congress, executive branch, the U.S. Department of Energy, and various other federal agencies. His areas of expertise include the energy sector, utility and nuclear projects, science education, defense, financial services industry, federal appropriations, public works projects, and cyber and critical infrastructure security.

Davis also served as chief of strategic communications for NASA and principal deputy director of public affairs for DOE, serving as spokesperson and senior advisor to the U.S. DOE Secretary of Energy. He served on the senior staff for two U.S. senators, holding Senate leadership staff positions, the press release said.

Davis has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee, where he played for both the band and football team. Davis resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and two children.
