More than 25 fundraising teams are expected to participate in a June 1 cancer-fighting fundraiser at Oak Ridge High School.
Money raised at the all-night Relay for Life will support American Cancer Society efforts to help fight cancer and find a cure for it. Organizers hope to raise $80,000.
Oak Ridge’s Relay For Life will be one of more than 5,000 held across the country, an American Cancer Society press release said.
The release said the Oak Ridge relay will feature entertainment, fun, games, and food. There will be inflatables for children as well as games and activities.
Cancer survivors will be honored during a 5 p.m. celebration, and they will kick off the first lap of the relay, an all-night walking event, with the Survivor’s Lap.
