A fundraiser for Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge on Saturday features auctions, music, dancing, and dinner
A brand new grandfather clock. An elegant condo surrounded by dozens of golf courses near Orlando, Florida, that’s available in October. A lovely condo on Crescent Beach in Florida. A Gatlinburg getaway, which includes a luxury cabin stay and event tickets.
An elegant tea for eight. A fine wine dinner for 26 in a garden setting and an Italian dinner for 20 at the Olde Towne Event Center in Oak Ridge.
A one-year membership at National Fitness, flowers for a year, and a signed and framed Ed Westcott photograph of Manhattan Project workers celebrating the end of World War II.
And while you’re waiting to bid on these items in the live auction officiated by Bear Stephenson, you can enjoy a catered dinner; wine, beer, and a signature drink; “celebrity” dancers who are competing for your “votes” by cash or purchased chips; and Carolina Beach music played by a deejay.
And it’s all for a great cause: supporting the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge. FMC provides medical services to residents of Anderson, Roane, and Morgan counties who lack health insurance and cannot afford medical care. They are trapped in a gap because Tennessee did not expand its Medicaid services under the Affordable Care Act, which is often referred to as “Obamacare.”
The bash, which will also include a silent auction, will be held on Saturday, August 13, from 5 to 10 p.m. in the Parish Life Center of St. Mary’s Church, 327 Vermont Avenue. Tickets are still available, at $70 apiece. And neon T-shirts can be purchased for $10 apiece at the clinic or at the door.
