The Tennessee Valley Authority will be making road and parking improvements at Melton Hill Recreation Area, some of which will require changes in traffic patterns during the work, a press release said.
Beginning Saturday, August 6, TVA crews will be conducting road and parking improvements along Melton Hill Dam Road and the recreation access road off Highway 95.
The work will take place daily from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., weather permitting.
The road and parking areas will remain partially open to traffic for most of the work, with flaggers onsite to direct visitors safely past the work zone, a press release said. There will be two days when the road will be closed to traffic, and the alternate back entrance must be used. Signage will be posted for the detour.
Work is expected to conclude by August 10. If the work must be extended due to weather, all lanes and parking will be opened over the weekend of August 12.
