Jess W. “Rusty” Cranmore III

Jess W. “Rusty” Cranmore III, age 52, a resident of the Marlow Community in Anderson County, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at his home, while surrounded by his family.

Mr. Cranmore was born July 18, 1960, in Oak Ridge and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Rusty was a faithful Christian and a member of the Batley Baptist Church. He served the church on the budget and finance committee. He enjoyed listening to Southern gospel music and he loved children.

He was employed as an accounting specialist at Fox Oldsmobile and GMC in Oak Ridge for 21 years.

Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Jess W. Cranmore Jr.; by maternal grandparents, Bill and Martha Wilson Robbins; and by his paternal grandparents, Jess W. Cranmore Sr. and Dovie Ruth Hilburn Cranmore.

Rusty is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandra Duncan Cranmore; by his son, Jared Tyler Cranmore; mother, Jerry Robbins Cranmore; by a sister, Teresa Freels and husband David; and by a brother, Bryan Cranmore and wife April, all of Clinton.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, extended family members, and many special friends, including Deb and Ernie Peters.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 1, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Batley Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the church, with Pastor Luke Kidwell officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Batley Baptist Church, Building Fund.
