School is out, and Father’s Day is around the corner: These are just two of the many reasons to celebrate with a Dine and Donate meal!
On Monday, June 13, several local restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, or ADFAC, as part of Dine and Donate. Dine and Donate is a year-long event, with different restaurants participating on the second Monday of each month.
“Whether celebrating the fathers in our lives or simply beating the heat, dining out in at least one of Monday’s Dine and Donate restaurants is a fantastic way to enjoy the season,†said Cande Seay, who chairs the Dine and Donate committee.
Monday’s participating restaurants are:
- Buddy’s bar-b-q in Oak Ridge and Buddy’s ORNL Café,
- El Cantarito in Oak Ridge,
- Gondolier in Clinton,
- Hoskins in Clinton,
- Razzleberry’s in Oak Ridge,
- Salsarita’s in Oak Ridge, and
- Secret City BBQ & Pies.

In addition to the participating restaurants, Dine and Donate events have several business sponsors: Leidos, UT-Battelle, Enrichment Federal Credit Union, ORNL Federal Credit Union, Randy McFarland—State Farm Agent, J&M Butcher Shop, and Oak Ridge Today.
ADFAC, an independent nonprofit agency established in 1987, exists to serve the basic needs of primarily low-income residents in Anderson and surrounding Appalachian counties. ADFAC’s goal is to help families become stable and self-sufficient through a variety of direct assistance services provided by its Social Services and Affordable Housing programs. ADFAC answers more than 6,000 requests for assistance each year.
