The Oak Ridge Wildcats took down Karns, the top team in District 3-AAA, at home in 11 innings on Tuesday, April 19. Here are pictures from the game.

The Wildcats (14-14, 5-9 District 3-AAA) play at home tonight against Campbell County (2-24, 0-13). It’s Senior Night and the last district game of the season. Events start at 5 p.m.

“Pack the stands and rock the house to send off 2016’s Senior Wildcats as district play comes to an end,” the team said.

We’ll add more information to this story as we can. In the meantime, you can see baseball game highlights on the ORHS Baseball Twitter feed here.

Karns is 23-7 overall, and 14-2 in District 3-AAA. The Wildcats gave the Beavers one of their two district losses.

The Oak Ridge-Karns game was scoreless until the seventh inning. The Beavers scored one, and the Wildcats responded with a triple to deep left field by Jaycen McGhee, who was driven in by Jacob Ownby to tie it.

In the 10th inning, Karns scored on a hit to deep center field, scoring a runner from second base. But with bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Seth Caldwell brought in the tying run on a bunt to tie the game at 2-2.

The Wildcats gave up a run in the top of the 11th inning to trail 3-2.

But Oak Ridge scored two runs in the bottom of the 11th, with Logan Williams scoring the game-winner on a wild pitch, making the final score 4-3.

It was the seventh overall win for pitcher Spencer Wilson, who had 110 pitches in nine innings, and was backed up by the Wildcats’ defense.

More information will be added as it becomes available.
