The Oak Ridge Wildcats took down Karns, the top team in District 3-AAA, at home in 11 innings on Tuesday, April 19. Here are pictures from the game.
The Wildcats (14-14, 5-9 District 3-AAA) play at home tonight against Campbell County (2-24, 0-13). It’s Senior Night and the last district game of the season. Events start at 5 p.m.
“Pack the stands and rock the house to send off 2016’s Senior Wildcats as district play comes to an end,” the team said.

Karns is 23-7 overall, and 14-2 in District 3-AAA. The Wildcats gave the Beavers one of their two district losses.
The Oak Ridge-Karns game was scoreless until the seventh inning. The Beavers scored one, and the Wildcats responded with a triple to deep left field by Jaycen McGhee, who was driven in by Jacob Ownby to tie it.
In the 10th inning, Karns scored on a hit to deep center field, scoring a runner from second base. But with bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Seth Caldwell brought in the tying run on a bunt to tie the game at 2-2.
The Wildcats gave up a run in the top of the 11th inning to trail 3-2.
But Oak Ridge scored two runs in the bottom of the 11th, with Logan Williams scoring the game-winner on a wild pitch, making the final score 4-3.
It was the seventh overall win for pitcher Spencer Wilson, who had 110 pitches in nine innings, and was backed up by the Wildcats’ defense.
