The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge will host Breakfast with the Legislators on Monday morning, April 25. The breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Social Room of the Oak Ridge Civic Center, which is at 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Senators Ken Yager and Randy McNally and representatives John Ragan and Kent Calfee have been invited to give an up-to-date as the 109th General Assembly comes to a close, a press release said.
During Breakfast with the Legislators, audience members can ask questions and give opinions. A light continental breakfast is provided at no charge. The public is encouraged to attend.
2016 marks the 29th year that LWVOR has held Breakfast with the Legislators. Breakfasts are held at the same time and place the fourth Monday of each month as long as the General Assembly is in session.
“The popular community event not only offers firsthand information on upcoming legislation and House and Senate committee activities but prompts dialogue among legislators and citizens and provides a great networking opportunity for members of the community,” the press release said.
If the Oak Ridge schools are closed due to bad weather, Breakfast with the Legislators will be canceled.

I wonder if Messrs. McNally and Ragan will be willing to explain why they introduced legislation that would specifically change the workings of the Anderson County government. And they did this without informing the County Commissioners. It would appear that they were on an errand for Ms. Frank and are nothing more than tea-party lap dogs.
Sam Hopwood says
Why don’t you attend the meeting and ask them?
Joseph Lee says
Ms. Frank has neither the ability or desire to govern. She can’t get her way with the commission so they want to throw out the currant system and put in a system that can be more easily manipulated by her and her supporters. No doubt her sack of plaintiffs will be running for the seats on the charter crew. I wish they would reimburse the county for the legal trouble they have caused and just go home. Thank you.
