The city of Oak Ridge is looking for school crossing guards. The guards play an important role in the lives of children who walk or bike to school by helping children safely cross the street at key locations, a city press release said.
This is an ideal job for students, homemakers, and/or retirees to make extra spending money, the press release said. Applicants must be responsible adults at least age 18 and will work for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon on school days.
Applicants must be able to work well with children and the public and must be willing to attend mandatory training before beginning work. Duties are performed in all types of weather. Successful applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.
