The state football playoff brackets have been posted. Oak Ridge will play Soddy-Daisy on Blankenship Field at 7 p.m. Friday, November 6.
Oak Ridge (9-1) is the number two seed in Region 3 in Class 5A, and Soddy-Daisy (7-3) is the number three seed in Region 4. The Wildcats beat the Trojans 53-28 in the first round of the 2014 playoffs after a close first half.
Here is the schedule for other Region 3-5A teams on Friday:
- Farragut (9-1), the number one seed, will play at home against Cleveland (5-5), the number four seed in Region 4. The Wildcats’ only loss this season was to Farragut, 31-14.
- Campbell County (5-5), the number three seed in Region 3, will travel to Rhea County (7-3), the number two seed in Region 4. The Golden Eagles eliminated the Wildcats last year 35-21 in a state quarterfinal game. Oak Ridge beat the Campbell County Cougars 45-6 in the last regular season game of 2015 on Friday, October 30.
- Clinton (4-6), the number four seed in Region 3, will travel to Ooltewah (8-2), the number one seed in Region 4. The Wildcats beat the Dragons 24-13 in the season opener.
In other local first-round Class 5A games:
- Sevier County (8-2), the number one seed in Region 1, will play at home against Gibbs (5-5), the number four seed in Region 2.
- Halls (6-4), the number two seed in Region 2, will play at home against Tennessee High (5-5), the number three seed in Region 1.
- Heritage (3-7), the number three seed in Region 2, will travel to Morristown West (8-2), the number two seed in Region 1.
- Morristown East (3-7), the number four seed in Region 1, will travel to Knoxville West (8-2), the number one seed in Region 2.
There are eight regions across the state. The second round is November 13, the quarterfinals are November 20, the semifinals are November 27, and the Class 5A championship is Friday, December 4.
