W. Lynn Sutton

W. Lynn Sutton, of Oak Ridge, died peacefully, Monday, July 30, surrounded by family and close friends.

He was born July 19, 1947, in Greeneville.

Mr. Sutton was co-owner of Peters-Starr Insurance Inc. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, where he faithfully served as deacon, choir member, and Sunday School teacher. He was a gentle and kind man who was well known for his captivating smile.

Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his father, Joe Rogers Sutton, and father-in-law, Greer Bryant.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Debbie Bryant Sutton; mother, Etta Teague Sutton of Oak Ridge; stepson, Andy Rader and wife Lyndsay of Knoxville; brother, Leslie Sutton and wife Nellaine of Knoxville; sister, Jodie Castellani and husband Marc of Concord, N.C.; three grandchildren, Paige Rader, Neil Rader, and Brooke Rader, who knew him as “Pop Pop”; mother-in-law, Betty Bryant of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Denise Bryant of Maryville; niece, Amy McKeehan and husband Brian of Knoxville and their children, Molly and Matthew; and nephews, Ryan Sutton and wife Sheri of Knoxville, Jordan and Michael Castellani of Concord, N.C., and Dane Plemons of Knoxville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Ellis and Dr. Tom Melzoni of Dayton, Ohio, officiating.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Central Baptist Church, 130 Providence Rd., Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
