With improved screenings and advanced treatment, more and more people are beating cancer each year. But that doesn’t change the significance of being a cancer survivor and the hard fight to put cancer in its place.
Join Methodist Medical Center and Thompson Cancer Survival Center at Methodist as they celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 7, with Survivor Sundae. This special ice cream social will take place from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Ambulatory Center at 944 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Survivor Sundae will honor cancer survivors and their families who have supported them along the way.
The event is free and open to the public. It will feature an ice cream sundae bar, celebration activities, cancer prevention and information booths, live music by the popular Mt. LeConte Jug Band courtesy of CALM, and fun for the whole family—rain or shine, a press release said.
So whether you are a survivor or simply want to learn more about cancer prevention and show your support, make plans to attend Survivor Sundae and declare that victory is sweet, the press release said.
The event is free, but registration is required. To register or for more information, please call (865) 835-4662.
